rossi revolver
I have a rossi model 877 stainless steel .357 magnum revolver. It has the snub nose barrell,and rubber grips with finger grooves. This gun is in very good condition and has had no more than 35 rounds fired through it. How much should I ask for it?

My friend just purchased a small 22lr rossi revolver that looks just like a lady smith.It doesn't have a model number but it is a seven shot.You pull the cylinder pin back to let the cylinder swing out. It is nickel plated and appears to never been fired. All I can find is that it could be a prenciss model 25,but i can't find the model number anywhere.It says on the side under the cylinder F I washington d.c.It has a 2" barrel and has the rossi emblem on the grips.I would like to know any history and what it might be worth. 0 -
The Rossi "Princess" revolvers, were imported between the mid to late 60's, by Firearms International. They were quite popular at that time. Unfortunately due to the gun control act of 1968, importation ceased in 1968.
Although they appear to be a copy of the S & W Ladysmith, the Rossi's frame was made from Zinc diecastings = potmetal. Because of this very unlikely they would be as durable if shot a lot.
Although they were quite inexpensive during that time frame, their value has gone up substantially. If your friend has the fitted case and original documents it was sold with? NIB probably would be in the $400-$600 range nowadays as it is quite a cute and appealing firearm.

There were a couple of variations of that gun. I believe that the Model 13 came with a 3" barrel, while the Model 25 had a 2" barrel. I think of them as "Princesses", but I do not know if both were actually called a "Princess". Here is a pair that someone is selling (the price is really up there!):

Thank both of you very much.The pictures of the two inch barrel are exactly the samr as the one he has.Cute little gun but I knew being a rossi you wouldn't want to spend a day at the range with it. 0
