Colt Lieutenant commander value?

Hello everyone,

New member here with a question.

I have a Colt Lieutenant Commander pistol that was a Lew Horton/Colt custom shop thing...and produced in 1985 only with a production run of less than 800...I believe it was 500.

The problem being is that I no longer have the box and the gun has been carried...now showing holster wear on the high edges, and has had millet sights installed(not dovetailed).

I have seen pristine examples of these sell for $2500-3000+.

Is this gun worth bringing back to original specs or should I just enjoy it as a shooter/carry gun?

    Your post isn't clear regarding the Millet sights? Are you saying that the slide was machined so that they could be installed?

    IMHO once worn it can NEVER be brought back "TO PRISTINE" condition + you are missing the BOX and Papers

    It's only worth a shooter now as it has all the wear you say that's on it.

    The slide has NOT been milled...just has aftermarket sights.

    The market for Colt Special Edition autos seems to be a little weak. I would expect yours to sell in the $1k neighborhood.
