Winchester Mod.70 Classic Featherweight

Did Winchester ever put open sights on the Mod 70 Classic Featherweight??

  Not that I am aware of, unless it might be a 375 H&H...then I am not sure if they made the "CLASIC" in that configuration and chambering.

  I have a fwt 30-06 from 1962 and it has a skinny little barrel with no intention of sights other than the receiver being drilled.

  The classic featherweight model 70 is a post '64 item.

  I've got a post 64 Model 70 Featherweight XTR in .243 with iron sights, bright blue, floorplate, nice checkering and schnable forend.
  Might XTR mean extra, an upgraded Featherweight version?

  The "Classic" model's were started in the early to mid 90's. They have the Pre-64 mauser type claw extractor. They are the controled round feed, not the push feed "Post-63" model. The "CLASSIC" Featherweights, did not have any provisions for iron sights.
