Ruger Gunsite Scope

I just bought a Ruger Gunsite bolt rifle and am going to use a forward mounted scope. I'd like to know what others have used, suggestions?

I know handgun scopes have longer eye relief than EER scopes, are you using EER rifle scopes or handgun scopes? I see some of these with the scope mounted quite a ways to the rear, nearly to the rear sight. Can a conventional scope with maybe a 4" or 5" eye relief be used on the barrel rail?
