I don't currently own a PPK but for the most part slide locks back when. The magazine follow rises up and moves a part that normally is held at the other end of its movement by a spring. Most likely this spring is weak or gun has a bunch of GUNK making parts stick and not move freely. I hope you did not spray with WD40[V][V][V][V] if so you will need to strip the gun down to the last part. WD40 and some gun oils mix to form SUPER GLUE.

Yeah, I'm thinking weak spring, too. Thats the only thing I could think of that might cause it to do that. Definitely NOT WD40. That stuff's basically kerosene in a spray can and has no business anywhere near a gun. Haven't tried different ammo, but I was using the same stuff I've shot in it for years with no problems. I'll tear it down and give everything a good cleaning, then see if the problem persists. If it does, I guess I'll start hunting a new spring. Thanks guys.

Say it ain't so. The new Bond movie's going back to the PPK. I know why on earth but it seems the grip has some sort of "smart gun tech". Not so smart if they're going old school.

Easy and cheap is a strip and clean with spring replacements (including the mag sprigs).
