What Model Dan Wesson .357 Do I have?
I traded into a Dan Wesson .357 today and the guy I got it from had no clue as to model. I can't find it on the gun anywhere. It is made in Monson Mass. and serial # is 25xxx. Picture below. Any help would be appreciated. Are barrels and barrel shrouds pretty much interchangeable amongst the models? I tried to research this but everything was pretty vague.I just want to get some info before I go out buying barrels and grips for it. If anyone out there has some they wanna get rid of cheap drop me a line.

Looks like a model 14, if it has fixed sights. A model 12, if it has adjustable ones. It's hard to see in your picture.

It has fixed sights so I guess it is a 14. 0 -
you have one of the early and least desirable wessons. the barrels are hard to find, and exspensive. you can always tell the real early models by the full lug on the barrel that goes all the way down to the frame. the early guns had alot of problems with the lock work on them. they will go out of time, and lock up, or skip cylinders.
if it was me, i would sell it off and get a newer version.0 -

Correct, Probably made in the early to mid 70's.0
