Need Help Identifying This Cylinder

Hello!
Can anyone ID this cylinder? It appears to be .38 caliber, although the .38 special is way too long, and feels a little sloppy. Here's some pics. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to everyone!

  Hello!
  I found this cylinder assembly among a bunch of parts, and I am trying to ID the maker and model. It is chambered for .38 Special, although it might be .357. It has the part #'s of 272 on the crane and cylinder, and a serial # of 311973 if these #'s help.

  looks like a S&W k frame cylinder. eastbank.
