Promag AK74 mags
I bought 4 of these on sale only to find they won't lock into the magwell of my 5.45. Is it acceptable to file the catch lug(on the mag-not the rifle) a little to allow it to lock them in?
I'm thinking I'll try one and see if it feeds correctly before butching all of them. They seem to fit into the receiver far enough or as far as the Tapco and milsurp ones do anyway. The mag catch on the rifle is plenty tight with some of the other mags but works with a little bump on the baseplate.

Sure, not a big deal as long as you file on the mag, not the gun. If you can see where its short of locking, just remove a little at a time until it fits. 0 -

If I was home I'd send you a couple commy made 5.45 mags. I got about 50 of them and no rifle at the moment. 0 -
Thanks for the thought. Still haven't tried to file the lug yet.
Maybe tomorrow as today was pretty much spent driving 180 miles to pick up some lumber for a deck shade project. Local lumber yards are way too high. I saved close to $90-$40 gas expense=$50 and got better(?)quality boards by driving to the closest Menards store. This was on a $330 purchase with a 11% discount today over everyday cost. My closest local board store was $60 higher just on the boards and their hardware prices were double.0
