Tripod for 50 cal. MG
We need a tripod for our 50 cal. MG at the museum and i seen on another website that they have a M2 tripod and it says 30 or 50 cal.Am i wrong or do i need to get a M3 tripod for the Ma Duece ?

The two tripods are completely different. I have 2 1919 .30 cals and a Ma Duce .50 BMG. The 50 tripod is twice the size of the .30 cal version. They use the same pindle, so you could put a .50 cal on a .30 tripod but it would look silly.

Agree w/ Lefty. The M3 is bigger/ heavier- about 52 lbs with the T&E mechanism.
Numrich has complete M3s WITH the T&E- but about $1300 and change. Can you check thru the Federal Supply system and see if there are any that are being surplused out?0 -
Thanks guys. Sounds like the price will be the neg. part.May have to go thru gov. channels to try to get one,may be hard to find a surplus one.Lefty do you make them to sell or do you have them for displaying your weapons ? The M3 dont look like it ever had anything on it. 0 -
Steve, No I do not make them. Each tripod came with a gun. Both of those tripods have been to the range and the desert numerous times. I just clean them up after use. 0
