Double ser. #'s on Century AK's ??

I've just heard Century Arms is putting double ser. #'s on the US made receivers for their AK's, one obvious and one "hidden". Is this so? Why?

  Most likely something the feds are making them do in light of "The Fast and the Fearious". Apparently the feds have their eye on someone who they suspect, is changing serial numbers.

  I've never heard of such a thing, & am dubious that it is so.
  
  The Mexican cartel doesn't care about serial numbers; they don't even bother to try to remove them.
  
  In Dubya's gunwalking operation, they secreted chips in the rifles. The crooks quickly found & removed them, dooming the entire operation.
  
  Now, if CAI had been asked to imbed a chip inside each rifle so that it could not be found......
