37 Winchester 16ga. 28" barrell Mod choke

Have several "Youth guns in 20ga. with 26" barrels and Mod chokes. Lettering located to far right and reads Mod Choke on two lines.Almost all the 37's are full choke but I have a Red Letter 16ga with bumble bee hammer that reads MOD. beneath 16Gauge in same spot that FULL is stamped on the old Red Letter 37's.Barrel is also stamped MOD. on bottom.I can't recall seeing another like this.Any one know how rare these are?

  I can understand the lack of records on the Winchester Model 37 single shot shotgun. They were made from 1936 to 1963, almost thirty years with over 1,015, 000 made. They were not serial numbered so it is impossible to track a particular gun. The Winchester name may be history but the company isn't. They are mow known as U.S. Repeating Arms Company. Offices are located in Morgan,Utah and Arnold,Missouri.

  Just a few made with serial numbers under Gauge designation, slightly above forearm and were for export.At least five sold on GB.Really not looking for exact number made,just thought some of you collectors or old timers might have a feel for how rare it might be based on your experiences.I am 69 now and this is first 16ga MOD. choke 28" barrel Red Letter I have owned.Thank you.
