22 TCM parent case?

I was reading an article. It said the parent brass for the 22TCM was the 9X19, another said it was a shortened .223 Rem. It looks longer than a basic 9X19 so I guess its shortened 223 Rem...right?

  If you think you had headaches with the the OAL of your .32acp in the seacamp....wait till you try the .22TCM in a 1911 platform!!! About the only bullet that works is old style
  Hornet bullets.
  Just another "flash in the pan" wild cat in my opinion.
