Factory External Errors - Good or Bad?
I enjoying guns that are unique, regardless how many were produced of that particular model/caliber.
I'd appreciate YOUR opinion on whether guns with an OBVIOUS ERROR, such as the company name and address DOUBLE-STAMPED. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Does this add or detract from the gun's interest and value?
With today's Quality Control departments such errors are not as common as they once were decades ago. I have a couple of old-timers with this anomaly.
Pictured below is a fairly recent well-known name example.

To say that you like guns which are unique is an understatement; I have seen just about everything that shoots but you have stuff that I have only heard about. Unlike coins, where errors can be worth hundreds of time the value of a normal coin, I ahve not seen much interest in error markings on firearms, at least not to the point of having anyone pay a premium for an example. 0 -
Just my opinion but I would send it back to the factory. As it is it's an embarrassment to you and the manufacturer. Would you drive a new pickup with a fender three inches out of place? 0 -
What factory would that be ? As was said above , there is no additional value placed on a firearm with overstrikes , or any other defect , for that matter . If an individual such as yourself like that sort of thing , to each his own I say ! 0 -

Anyway, to answer your question. No. Such errors do not excite me. I would definitely not pay a premium price for such a gun, and may even want a discount.

Whatever turns your crank! To each his own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc., etc..
It's kinda like picking a wife. Luckily not everyone has the same taste in guns - or wives - as I do: attractive, functional but definitely unique from all others.
