    According to the Third Edition Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson your model 36 was manufactured in 1955.

    Rufe could very well be correct, I'm not sure I was looking in the right place in the book. Rufe, what reference are you using?

    This is a pawn shop find. Funny thing is the bluing is very healthy in some places and almost gone i others. I mean weve all seen those basket cases where someone place gun between mattresses and left them to rust, but this one has no to little rust. Maybe it's a combo age/ chemical attack to blueing. Anyway , not bad for $135.00 OTD

    I don't get your meaning...?? I did in fact pay the pawn shop that amount for it.
    They run the numbers through local county sheriffs dept. , so I know it's valid.
    I haven't shot it yet. I need to hit the woods and try it out.
