Can anyone tell me how to know the difference between a M 1911 and a M 96/11 Swiss rifle ? Thanks

  Thanks as the inlaid pistol grip and rounded butt plate might be a clue.

  The later addition of the pistol grip and subsequent joint is the main difference cosmetically. Mine also has a noticeably shorter throat than my 1911 rifle, but that could just be me- meaning bullet seat depth with some bullets is something to pay attention to. K31 depths are fine, but I can usually seat a tad longer with the 1911.
