When was this model 70 made?
Hello all, i just purchased a brand new in box winchester model 70 blued walnut sporter model in 3006 with some overtime money i had been hoarding[:D]
The rifle came in a red box and it was made in morgan utah, what year was it made?

Knew the rifle was made after the CT plant closed so that would narrow it down, thanks bearshooter 0 -
These guys are jacking you around, you need the serial number posted to be able to get someone to tell when it was manufactured.

To further your inquirery, your rifle was possibly made in Columbia, SC. That is where FNH's(Fabrique Nationale Herstal) USA based manufacturing plant is. I am quite sure that the Morgan, Utah address, is just the business address for Browning, and the lions share of the Browning products, are made accross the pond, not here in the states.
Browning falls under the control Of FNH, and Winchester falls under the control of FNH-USA.

What does the barrel address say on it?(if it says New Haven, then it was made in the old Winchester/USRAC plant). If it says Morgan, Utah, or Columbia, SC, then it was made at Columbia.
No way to tell when, without a serial number.
