1911 -limited edition colt
Apparently this is one of a few hundred made by Lew Horton
It is stamped "LT COMMANDER" and has a wide bull barrel, it is in uncarried but fired condition, I do not have the box. SN: FL06xxx
can't find much info on it, what do you guys think it will bring here at auction (if i start it at .01 and no reserve)?

Made FOR Lew Horton.
Parts bin engineering; just an OACP upper on a Commander lower. All it cost Lew extra was the stamp.
I looked hard at one of these when I was in love with the Brown Bobtail but the price was more than I wanted to pay for a project gun.0 -

I am sure you can see many listings for that amount. It is not rarity alone that encourages the price however. There have been many one of a kind Bubba Specials. Just there is no demand for them. Speeking of which, there appears not to be much demand for the ones priced between $2000.00, and $3200.00. If you want to see what the market will bear, use the search function, in the advanced search for completed auctions, and look at the ones that have sold.
That will give you an idea.

Actually, Lew Horton guns are not that bad. Lew Horton was a distributor who ordered (literally) hundreds of "special edition" guns from top tier manufacturers. Each "special edition" consisted of several hundred guns, primarily variations from the parts bin. They were sold only through their dealers, never cataloged. But, Lew had a knack for picking some really neat guns (although I think some 1911-types, such as Hoover's, were not so neat).
Most Lew Horton guns do well on the used market, primarily since they were "shooter" guns, not just pimped out collectibles. Due to low volumes, it's often hard to find a "market" price for a specific model.
Talo Distributor now sells similar special editions. I wager that, if you can afford to buy 200 Colts or S&Ws, you can get a limited edition "HooverTactical" gun made to your specifications.

That would be awesome, i don't know what i would do other than put our logo on it. Everything i can think of has been done to that platform at some point0
