    It appears to be a standard HS cadmium plated magazine, dating to the 50's. It is a universal type that fits all the High Standard pistols that were made from the early 50's until the military grip type were put into production in the 70's. The only exception is the .22 short versions such as the Flight King.

    I have one just like it but almost new in the box. It fits but feeds poorly in my HD Military.

    added So I went to look for my extra mag but it has been moved and its to much work to get to the pistol and it 6 mags.

    "The only exception is the .22 short versions such as the Flight King."..........Not trying to argue but it will not fit my HD-MILITARY at all, the 'sqaured' off heel will not allow it to seat.

    The earlier H-D Military, High Standard magazines were of a different construction. They are known as "finger" magazines, as they were made with a spring steel lip that is welded in position.

    You might try adjusting the rear lip dimensions to get your mag to function correctly in the HD military.

    The H-D military is a earlier High Standard design that dates to the mid 40's. It was made specifically for the "FINGER" type magazines, not the later cad plated magazine you inquired about. The H-D military went out of production in 1949. The cad plated magazines dates to the 50's and were made for Sport King, Field King, Duramatic and Supermatic series High Standard pistols.

    That is a High Standard magazine made between early 1954 and late 1959 which is the range of time for the cadmium plated magazines. The cadmium plated magazines have a bad habit of developing rust between the inner and outer magazine shells and with time this forces the two shells apart with a resulting growth ow the overall width of the magazine and a reduction of space on the inside for the cartridges. Sometimes the condition is so bad that cartridges cannot be loaded properly or the magazine cannot be inserted into the frame. The lip style magazine was designed and developed by Harry Sefried in mid to late 1952 and became standard in early 1953. When extant stock of the earlier finger magazines was depleted, they sold this lip style magazine as a replacement. The Model H-D Military like all the earlier fixed barrel guns had a smaller diameter follower button of about .220" diameter vs .315" diameter for the later removable barrel guns)a small diameter follower button lip style magazine was offered for the earlier models including the Model H-D Miltiary. The early lip style magazines did not have the pocket on the left side for the Dura-Matic magazine catch and so will not work in thet model. The slant grip magazines with the pocket will fit all slant grip models as long as it has the appropriate sized follower button.
