winchester xtr
I have been offered to buy a Winchester Model 70 XTR .243 but not sure what the value would be. The rifle also comes with a redfield scope. Any one have any idea what the value or a fair price would be for this rifle. Its in very good shape no rust or any dings on the stock. Any help would be great.
Thanks

I'm thinking about bidding on this winchester to replace the one I had stolen.

How hard would it be to get the correct type screw that is missing from the receiver and to clean up the pitting?0 -
THE SCREW IS EASY, MOST 'SMITH'S' WILL GIVE YOU 1 (YOU REPLACE THIS SCREW WHEN MOUNTING A SCOPE. THE PITTING WOULD REQUIRE A COMPLETE REBLUE AND THAT WOULD DEPEND ON WHEN THE RIFLE WAS MADE. POST 64 AND PRE MID 1980'S THEY ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO PROPERLY REBLUE 0 -
Wait on another one.,,imo.. 0 -
DITTO ! There are definately better ones out there. BT 0 -
That's a 200 dollar gun in that condition, tops. The screw from the sideplate and the front sight hood are easy enough to replace, but as the others said, rebluing a newer '94 receiver is very difficult and not worth it.
Rust pitting, damaged bluing, dinged stock, missing pieces, not a collectable or antique as it sits today... IMO a receipe for a money pit.0 -
Just a "pick-up" gun. There are several nice 94's on the auction. 0
