McAce chamber adapters

I have a old savage 24v .222/20 ga was thinking about getting a 22Lr adapter for it has anybody done this and how well did it work

  I had a .223/.22 LR adapter years ago. It was a pain in the butt, you had to unload the adapter and knock out the fired cartridge case for each shot. Got old fast. If you want to have one on hand for emergency utilization of .22 LR in your rifle, can't see the harm though. I don't recall much about the accuracy at this late date, it was probably adequate for short range shots?

  Thanks. I didn't even think about having to knock out the spent casing after each shot.

  Not sure about this brand aux chamber but some have a way too hard incert (changes center to rim fire) that can/will damage your rifles firing pin. Cast bullets and a Lyman 310 tool make for cheap shooting and more on the order of 22 Mag plus they fit the bore better.

  Agreed. Cast bullet with a mild load around 1200 fps (similar to a .22) or even a proper diameter round ball makes a fine plinking load.

  I have a couple .41 Mag, .44 Mag and 38/357 in 12Ga.
  I use them in my HK M1/Benelli M1 Super 90.
  The sights on the M1/Super 90 are as good as most rifles so I have no problem hitting what I aim for.
  Lots of fun. Won't cycle the action so what. Just something to play around with.

  I have adapters for the 222 that use 209 shot primers and 22cal pellets.tks hedge.[:D]
