Unusual Remington 870 barrel
I bought a Remington 870 barrel and thought I did great until I got it home. Its 21 inches long, marked full choke (one star), it has a narrower vent rib and a large white bead sight at the muzzle. What makes it strange is that it wont fit a standard Wingmaster receiver and 4 shot magazine (4+1 capacity). The magazine lug is about 2 inches closer to the receiver than a standard barrel. Do they make 870's with a 3+1 capacity? The foreend wood or action bars would need to be modified as well. Does anybody know what model shotgun this barrel fits? Thanks, Steve G.

Sir, if you want to go to the trouble and expense you can have the lug moved forward. I bought several of these barrels on a closeout years ago, very cheap price, and did this myself. The barrel lug is soldered to the barrel. It is easily removed with heat and can be resoldered in the proper place to fit a regular 870. 0
