Thin grips for a Sig P226?

I went to the range with a friend who just bought a used P226 that came with replacement Hogue grips. High polish stainless steel, including the controls --- a nice looking gun. It shot great for me, but my buddy has small hands & I can see that he can't move his index finger independent of the rest of his hand, causing his shots to go all over the place.

Does anyone make skinny grips for this gun, or am I going to be forced to buy it off of him?

  Is the Hogue grips the ones with the finger grooves? If so you can cut them off and make the grips more the traditional two piece number.
  
  I suppose he could track down some stock grips. Personally I'd go grip some a the shops before plunking down some cash on OG grips. If the factory grips are still too wide then you'll have to throw money at some guy to make you some.
  
  I think thin aluminum ones.

  Have him get some OEM grips. I had the same problem with Hogue grips on one I have. There are some on the auction side and on ebay. The prices are reasonable on both places. If they don't do the trick for him, get the short trigger for it. That's what I did to make mine more comfortable to shoot.

  Hogue grips on double-stack autos are always chunky. There are a ton of aftermarket makers, along with the original grips that people will sell (I think the OEM'S are pretty dang good as well) Check the auction side.

  SIG makes a trigger for all their 'Classic Series' models with a face that's more relieved, giving a slightly shorter reach for the index finger.
  
  These can be had for around $40 and drop right in.
