removal ofcomplete SKS front sight base-off barrel
What is the procedure to remove the complete front site off the barrel. I noted there is a cross pin but not sure if the site is soldered on or not. Anyone who has done this please provide advice, thanks

Be advised, I have never removed one. My understanding though is that the front sight assembly is a interference fit even after the cross pin is removed. Seting it up in a hydraulic press would be the best way to remove it. If you can't go that route clamp the barrel between two form fitted vise blocks so that the front face of the receiver buts against the rear portion of the vise, to prevent movement. Apply heat with a torch to the front sight only. Use a large brass punch to prevent marring, with a heavy hammer, to get the sight assembly moving. 0 -

After I removed the pins I set the barrel bore ( muzzle down ) on a block of wood and then used a big hammer. Since I was removing the front sight housing I didn't care what it looked like when it was finally removed.

Every SKS manufacturer made them to different specifications. So, when discussing parts, you need to say (& ask):
