Burgess Shotgun Parts?
I have a breech bolt assembly and a trigger plate assembly that were in a lot of parts I bought. They were in the same drawer but I do not know if they are for the same gun or not. First is the breechbolt assembly: Marked on the top plate 'BURGESS' over 'BUFFALO N.Y.' over 'U.S.A.'. this appears to be for a slide action 12 gauge shotgun. The lower part of the right side extractor appears to be broken off. Otherwise it appears to be a complete assembly.
Here is the trigger plate assembly. It is marked on the bottomof the platein frontof the trigger guard: PAT.DEC. 25, 83 MAR. 86, FEB 8, JULY 12, NOV 22, 87, July 5&7-92, REIS.10555. June12&Aug21,92. It has the number 2223 in script at an angle across the plate just in front of the trigger guard. Any info on make, model, & value will be appreciated!

Have two references to the name BURGESS. One is for a "Trade Brand Name" double barrel shotgun sold by the Charles Godfery Stores, maker unknown. Don't think this is the one you are looking for. The other is for the Burgess Gun Company located in Buffalo,NY 1898 to 1903. This one made an odd ball pump action repeater in which the trigger group, not the forearm slid back and forth to operate the gun. The company made about 6,000 shotguns before it was bought out by Winchester Repeating Arms Company and all production ceased. There is a small illustration of a Burgess repeating shot gun in my reference and the bolt assembly and trigger guard look much like yours. 0 -
I have a friend that has two of the old Burgess pumps. They were quite unique in that on one model you could fold the stock in half an unfold it in a flicker. Well made old shotguns. I really enjoyed seeing them. 0 -

The folding versions were generally used by police and bank couriers.0
