Buckshot in a Rifled Shotgun Barrel SWAG
Remmington 11-87, 12 ga, with a factory rifled slug barrel.
How bad is the shot pattern at 25 yards with 00 buck?
All pellets in a 30 inch circle?
SWAG?
TIA

One $1 shell with you at the range is worth a lot more than my guess. 0 -
With bird shot and a rifled choke tube or rifled barrel, a much larger pattern happens a lot closer in, and at "normal" distances it will be much like a donut with an empty spot in the middle.
I would imagine that with the larger size of buckshot that effect will be more pronounced.0 -

llama, Thank you for the info. The rifled barrel spining the power piston. You saved me a 80 mile round trip to the range.0 -

It's why some dual-caliber single shot pistols include an attachment with straight rifling. The attachment serves to arrest the rotation of the shot charge and prevent excessive dispersion. 0
