Colt AR DOM?

Can any one tell me what year my Colt AR was made? I know it is a pre-ban gun, but would like to know when it was made should I ever need parts. The S/N is ST0103xx

Yes, a S/N would be very helpful to age this gun. It was a VERY LONG day at work.

  It appears to be 1978. You can check this site or call Colt at 1-800-962-COLT.

  Handyman,
  If your reciever is marked Colt Sporter it was built between 1989-1994 and considered a blue label gun. The Sporter Target (6551) did not come out until after 1989. Guns with a serial number of less than st038100 were shipped before the ban date of 1994. The Blue Book has a great break down of Green label, Blue label, and Match target models and dates.
