How to straighten warped stock ??
I have an old maybe WWI circa '98 Mauser stock that is warped, can anyone tell me how to straighten this thing out? I got the time to fool with it. If it is stood left side against a wall, the bottom of the butt which should also touch the wall is curved to the right about 3/4".

Stock bending requires patients patience, pressure and a little bit of heat.
A proper fixture helps also.

The patient is the stock: patience is what you need for the process, OE , buy a replacement stock.

Stock bending with permanent correction is not a simple DIY process since it involves either oil or steam with precision fixtures to effect the bend in the proper place. Unless your stock is numbered to match a very collectible M98, I suggest finding another stock to replace the one you're about.

I'd be careful about altering the existing stock. My (civillian) mouser, and double rifles have what is known as 'cast-off', whereby the stock takes a slight bend in the rear portion (after the receiver assembly).
This begs the question: Could the castoff in the stock be intentional in this early WWI vintage rifle?
Best you do some research, as the 'bend' could be authentic.
