    Yep, it sure is. They don't make them like that anymore...not even the "CLASSIC" models. I know of one that was blue, in the wooden case, that sold for over $900.00 this past winter/spring.

    They are not quite like the Colt Python's for collecting, but they are a good, strong second.

    My BEAUTIFUL 27-2 6" sold last summer for $475.00; I cried like a baby.

    Its worth the $400 starting bid, and its also worth the $585 bid it is currently at. The "pin pricking" rust spots by the trigger are a minor issue and can easily be kept from spreading by keeping it oiled in that area.

    My 27's are all blued models, and I wont be parting with them.

    The 27-2 is one of the finest revolvers that S&W, or anyone else for that matter, ever built. The earlier pinned and recessed types were beautifully fitted and finished and would stand up to any reasonable load. One of my great regrets is parting with my 3 1/2".
