WTK about 870 Marine Magnum finish

I wound up with all parts except receiver for an 870 Marine Magnum. And i have an old 870 laying around.....what is the best finish to approximate the Marine Magnum finish? And i dont want to coat it with any paint type finishes, either the mat chrome type finish, or electroless nickle. But what finish are they normally?

  I'd do a hard chrome finish on it. it will be more rust resistant than nickle.

  To answer your question directly, Remington says that all parts are coated in 'Electroless Nickel'.
