Rem 870 rifled barrel sight

Can a single weaver scope base bolt to 870 rifled barrel without drilling.
Would like to mount a reflective sight which uses a single standard weaver base.
Is there a weaver type base that is contoured to the 870 barrel and replaces the rear sight?

  870 REM. uses the same Scope base as the 760 Rem. Rifle

  Not enough room on a 870 barrel to be drilling and tapping holes for a base in it..
  A standard # 62 Weaver base can be fitted to the top of the receiver on a 870 with no problems..

  check out the Amega Ranges scout mounts. i think their websight is amegaranges.com. Sometimes you will see them listed on the auction side. Had one of their original mounts for a Mini 14, it worked well for a scout mount.
