Did Winchester ever install pachmayr white line recoil pads on the pre 64 70's if a customer made a special request? I recently saw one that fit so perfectly that it had to have been fitted before the stock was finished, and the finish is original

Yes, as "Gopher Special". Not sure if a featherweight, though. 0 -
The Gopher Special was built in the Featherweight, it came without sights. Check The Red Book of Winchester Values.
