Longshot- Identify a screw?
I'm sure this is a longshot, but,
I'm looking to replace a worn screw in an old Steven's "Crack Shot" with a side lever breech block.
The screw I'm looking for holds the breech block and extractor in place.
Can anyone tell me what the thread pitch is suposed to be?

If you have the old screw, hike yourself down to your local hardware store and buy a screw thread pitch gauge. Or go to a local machine shop and have them measure the screw for you. 0 -
I can't tonight, but if no one has the answer by tomorrow I'll take a screw out of a Crackshot and measure it for you. 0 -
I just pulled a breech block screw from a Stevens crackshot side lever. The screw has 40 TPI, is .168 in diameter, and is .92 OAL. 0 -

That could be a 10-40 or 5/32-40 thread.(10-32 takes a .159 drill)
Both would be specialty threads.0 -
Actually, I think I may have found one, from Numrich's.
If it's called the Breech block screw, I believe it's in the mail on it's way to me.
I do appreciate the input though, and I'll keep that info. just in case my screw is not right.0
