Hi Standard Collector?
I don't follow the Hi Standard collectible market and don't know if they are up or down. I saw a Model E this weekend in great condition. A solid 97% with the correct two tone magazine in perfect condition. Anyone know what one in that condition would bring.

If your talking about the original "E"? Hard to price something like that. Very uncommon, maybe only couple thousand+, made before W W II.
Extra care should be taken to verify originality. I have seen a number of the older very collectable HS's, that to my eyes appear have been refinished, being offered for sale. Any time that a 60+ year old pistol comes on the market in excellent cosmetic condition, very close inspection is warranted.0 -
The Model E was made in both the type I-B take down and the type II take down. Generally the here is no differentiation in price based or the relative difference in rarity and teh values have been pretty flat for the past several years. In my opinion there should be some consideration in value based on the fact that the I-B is more scarce than the II and the short barrel more scarce than the long barrel. I doubt the market will recognize any differentiation in value until the numbers are published.
Rufe is absolutely correct that some have been expertly refinished and some not so expertly refinished but in my experience there is always a tell that gives the refinish away.

This is the long barrel and it has not been refinished. Looking for current market value0 -
A 6.75" Model E with type II take down would be around $875 to $950. There would be premiums for the type I-B take down and/or the 4.50" barrel. 0
