Marlin 39a question
Recently purchased a Marlin 39a S# 5158. The gun is in great shape but the white spacer between the end of the stock and plastic butt plate seems to have shrunk. It is about 1/8" smaller on all sides than the stock and butt plate. It appears to be plastic so I am trying to figure out how it shrunk. Any ideas as to what might be going on and where I can get a new one? Thanks.

I just bought an older Marlin 39A serial D2483, I would like to sell it for around $250.00 It is intact and I consider it to be in very good condition. I would like to trade for older fishing equipment if this is allow on this site. I just registered today. Thanks for any help in advance. Bob Rice 0 -

Bad batch of plastic? too much solvent, not enough antioxident, maybe it was made to have a reveal. 0 -
it happens alot with the older marlins plastic of the era same with older mossbergs with the plastic trigger guards with the finger grooves 0 -
I have the same issue with an old JC Higgins 31. Don't know what it is, but it's definitely shrunk a bit. 0 -
