Colt 45 ACP
Looking for knowledgable feedback:
I am in the process of liquidating some of my firearms. I have a Gold Cup Trophy NIB model 05070X GCT29298. When reviewing past sales on GB I see they sell anywhere around 1100.00, give or take. However I saw where someone sold one for 1600.00 and referred to it as special 911 because it had "100 years of service" medallions on the grips. I then went back and reviewed the others for 1100.00 and they did not have the 100 year medallion. In review, mine does. Question is .... was this creative advertising that brought 1600 or is there something about this firearm that seperates it from the others ? Why are there fewer 100 years service medallions on the market?
Knowing there are a ton of Colt enthusiasts on here, I kindly ask for your feedback and advice. Thank You !

I believe those medallions are only on GC's made in 2011, the 100th anniversary of the Model 1911. 0 -
I don't know about the grips, but all Colt 1911's manufactured in the year 2011 had a "100 years of service" rollmark on the right side of the slide. 0 -
Thanks guys. Now I am confused, my firearm does not have the rollmark on the slide, but the grips have the medallion. I bought this NIB last year and it has only been out of the plastic bag 3 times. I probably need to call Colt to see if the serial number is truley a 2011. 0 -
with all that Colt has been through in the last few years they were probably useing up old stock 0 -
I am adamant about being honest, truthful, and revealing everything about a gun you put up for sale. That being said, you have a NIB Colt here and there is no shame in asking for the higher price....you can always come down.
The firearms situation as it is today, you very well may get a sale.
