tear gas pen gun
Does anyone here know, is a tear gas pen gun a thing that requires a license or fee ? I found one a while back and looked on here, and they are for sale but have not type of registration talk in the description. the one I found is very rare I believe and have no reason for it and would love to sell if its legal,or I will just destroy it.

i have knowlage of these items no problem selling as they will blow if you try live ammo in them they are primer fired only/to dispell the tear powder what do you have that you think is rare??? 0 -

First are they legal to have? and. the one I have has no markings, just patent number, checked the patent. it comes back to a fruitless tear gas pen gun,it said from 1925-1932. 0 -
If it's the kind that takes a conventional handgun/shotgun cartridge that is loaded with tear gas powder, be careful. The feds stopped commercial manufacture of this type of pen gun years ago. Doubtful that it could be grandfathered even though legally purchased years ago, to allow for resale on on the auction.
I have seen many for sale over the years. You have to ask yourself though, is it worth getting in a bind with the feds over the money you could perhaps make on the auction from selling it.

It was suppose to say faultless tear gas pen gun, and it has some specialty looking cartridges that are tapered and will not except a normal .410 shell. 0 -
most take a 38spl TGS or 410 that is about 2" i load up flour for fun 0 -

Some of these COULD chamber and fire ball ammo (not well, effectively, or safely) and the BATFE considers them to be an AOW. You can check with the ATF Firearms Technical Section over in West Virginia.

I got one that dad had. It was a 38spl. caliber. The barrel was aluminum and could take any 38spl ammo, if someone had the guts to shoot it. There was one round of Winchester tear gas with it. I could not find out how legal it is to have one. Sold it at a gun show a couple of years ago. 0 -
