Need help with Remington 572
I need help with this rifle. I have tried to find out when it was manufactured by using the date code data but this is not on the data sheet.
On the left side of the barrel close to the receiver there appears to be the following stamping:
I x c 47
On the right side of the barrel,there appears to be a heart shaped stamp.
This is all the markings on the barrel except for Remington model 572.
An old neighbor's son inherited it from his grampa but knows very little about it so I told him I would put it together for him,(got it as a basket case) since it needed some parts and a forend. He is very excited about having the rifle in working order. He asked me when it was made and all I could tell him is that it is pre 1968 since it doesn't have a serial number, so I thought.
Can anyone help me and tell me when and where it was manufactured?

According to the Blue Book, "X" = December, and "C" = 1956. 0 -
Thanks Rufe-snow, does the blue book indentify what the other stampings mean? Does the blue book identify what the heart stamp on the right side of the barrel mean? I would just like to give this guy any and all information I can gather about this .22. Again Thanks for the information. 0 -

All that's in the BB is the date codes.0 -
