Yes, though not all that much.

The TA90 is an earlier gun in the lineage that the current Witness is in. They're all basically clones of the CZ-75, though after a while Tanfoglio began to develop/refine the gun itself to the point where at least in the current Witnesses, there isn't any parts compatibility any more.

With the TA-90 you're somewhere in between the original TZ-75s (which are more or less exact CZ clones) and the current Witnesses. I believe most of the TA-90 parts are, in fact, compatible with current witness guns, but not all of them.

Also, if I remember right, the TA-90s (or at least some versions of them) have a slide-based safety (sort of like the IMI Jericho, another Tanfoglio-frame based gun), instead of the Witnesses' frame mounted one.

Yup, CZ 75 sized frame with slide mounted decocker/safety. Great guns. Same mag as the original Jericho and Springfield P-9

For what its worth, in my experience you can run CZ-75 magazines in the small frame Tanfoglio Witness guns, but not the other way around. Witness mags won't fully seat into CZ-75 guns.

There may be some way to modify the guns and/or mags to permit this exchange, though since both EAA and CZ mags are both relatively easy to find, there isn't really a great reason to do it.

The Witness mags also have mag release slots cut into BOTH sides, so the mags are effectively ambidextrous. On the Witness guns you can remove the mag release button from the left side of the pistol and reinstall it on the right side, to convert the gun to a left-handed mag release.

Don't know if this is true of the older TA90 guns or not.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the above question.

To respond, that gun in the auction looks pretty good. For under $300, I don't see how you can go wrong with it. The Tanfoglio guns are built like bricks (in a good way); they're heavy, strong, and highly reliable.

Looks like you probably could reverse the mag release button on that gun.

Which mags? Well, that depends on exactly when this particular gun was made. You can probably find out by contacting EAA with the serial number. Apparently Tanfoglio changed the design in 1988, and the mag compatibility changed a bit at that time too.

Depending on when it was made it will take TA-90 mags, TZ-75 mags, CZ-75 mags, Springfield P9 mags, EAA Witness SMALL FRAME mags, Jericho/Baby Eagle mags, and (more likely) some combination of the above, including perhaps ALL of the above.

In any case, I don't think it will be particularly hard to find a working mag, but you may have to try more than one type.

That gun looks like my EAA, and might take the same mags.

I have a TA 90, the safety is on the frame too. I use MecGar CZ 75 magazines in 9mm and 40 S & W for the 41 AE.

Why would the seller spend the extra for a reserve auction when his start and BIN price is 2 bucks apart???
