The standard .38 ammo for the Victory Model might not have been in a box. Way back when I ran across some W W II era military ammo. Sorry to say I shot it up. It was packed in small rectangular waterproof packages, not the common 50 round boxes in use nowadays.

I think most of got shot up and the boxes wore out. I have some 45 ACP boxes for the 40's might be some 38 in the group of stuff from dad. When I stated loading for the 45 I used those boxes over and over till most of them wore out. My wheel gun are feed out of plastic boxes the autoloader's from an ammo can. I'll be looking at ammo this week and next. I just my niece an almost new in the box K-38 I had bought my dad and need to send some ammo with it.
