16ga.win. md. 12 solid rib imp cyl 26 inch barrel
i just picked up a model 12 solid rib 16ga.2-3/4 chamber with a 26 inch imp-cyl barrel serial number 784453. the gun was said to be a southern bird gun by the owner who,s uncle was from the south and hunted quale.the gun is not in collector condition,but is in very good mechicanical condition(tight and works as it should),finish and wood are worn from many years of hunting.as i,m not selling it and am going to use it for ringnecks(over dogs) and grouse.is this gun unique or a common model 12? thanks eastbank.

Hi Eastbank: If my info is correct, the standard model 12 was a field grade,with unchecked wood, 28" bbl, full choke, with plain bbl(no rib). therefore,yours has some special features.

The more learned about the sweet 16 the more desirable it is...
Everything old is new. The sweet 16 has a great punch on game but easy on the shoulder. The old timers knew what was real!

I inherited a 16 ga M12 with a 28" full choke-solid rib gun many years ago. My grandfather used it to kill his two turkeys every year since he bought it ages ago.
Shoots like a dream...and is easy on the shoulder with everything but the stoutest magnum loads. If you're new to a M12: just remember with the M12 that there is no trigger disconnect, so if you hold the trigger down and cycle the action it will fire again. (Learned that one myself on the trap range)
