    Only issue might be the shell lifter if the shells are *too* short, and they may cause jams (Activ IIRC made some *really* short loads that would do this). But you'll probably be fine as is.

    The 2" Centurion "mini" loads you mention are designed so you can cram another 1-2 of them in a typical magazine for combat purposes, and also for slightly less recoil.

    Aguila has (or had) an even shorter 1-3/4" shell for the same idea.

    Yes, you "can" run them in an ordinary 2-3/4" or 3" chamber gun *BUT* with some guns they'll jam on feeding/loading, and supposedly its not always that easy to clear the jam either.

    Mossberg 500 pumps happen to be one of the guns where these shorter shells have problems.

    Working the action briskly can help prevent problems.
