Best AR-10 rifle

Overall for the money, what is the best AR-10 platform rifle out there ?

    I have had a few, and you need to be specific about your price range. You can get a no frills...no forward assist or shell deflector DPMS for around a grand. I have a DPMS LR-308, and I have also a high end GAP-10.

    The GAP-10 is made by GA Precision, and is built around the POF platform. However GA Precision gets rid of the gas piston, and takes it to a mid-length gas impingement system. I have not had one malfunction, and the rifle will shoot. It consistantly shoots sub-1/2 MOA, if I do my part with the ammo loading, and staying in a consistant posistion behind the rifle. The GAP-10, that I have came thru with a bolt action crisp(what most factory bolt guns would be like), 3 pound trigger. I cannot say enough good about it, other than I am considering selling the DPMS, and getting another GAP-10. They are not inexpensive.

    +1 on the RRA LAR-8. I'm partial to the Predator HP model

    I have 3 Armalite AR-10's including an original 1960's model. and they have never failed me. This is like asking what do you want on your pizza, or do you like a Ford or a Chevy. You'll get 10 different answers from 10 different people. I would suggest that you go out and handle as many as you can and then you will have to make up your own mind.
