Colt Ar-15, 5 Round Magazine??
I'm looking for a blue, metal, 5 round mag. Not a ten round blocked one or plastic one. Did Colt ever make a 5 round mag for there AR15 or the M16? I see Remington make one for there AR, but has camo on it. Does Remington make just a blue metal one with no camo?
Thanks for any and all info!

Yes, Remington makes blued black ones.
About 30 bucks after shipping, maybe a little more.
Don't know about blue for sure... you meant black, right?0 -
what Remington has is made by C-Products 0 -
Thanks Guys!! You are right, black is what I'm looking for. Now to see if Colt made one.
Thanks Again!!0 -
Years ago, Colt shipped AR-15 rifles with a block in factory 20-round magazines that reduced the capacity to five rounds. The block is removable, so I do not know if this will qualify as what you are seeking. 0 -
The ones from Remington, actually come from Bushmaster, or DPMS stock of magazines. I am not sure who makes them for those two, but they both, are under Remington's banner. Bushmaster makes the AR-15(R-15) style rifles, and DPMS makes the AR-10(R-25) rifles.

C- Products no longer exists so if you want any you will have to find someone that has some NOS mags.0 -
I was going to comment that CDNN might have some 5 rounders but it seems the "Prancing Pony" is the MOST important feature. 0 -
I had a Colt factory 8-rounder, the upper half was metal, lower half was plastic. It came with a Colt accurized rifle I bought (and stupidly sold) years ago. I kept than mag, but gave it to a friend last year when he bought a Sig piston gun so he could comply with the 10-round Ca limit laws.
I haven't seen one since and factory Colt 5-rounders, I haven't seen one.
EDIT: Correct, Colt contracts out their mags to other manufacturers. The 8-round mag was marked with the Colt logo and sold with the gun from the factory.0 -
Colt has not made any magazine for > 50 years; all are produced by contractors.

I dug around and found a couple that have a metal upper part with plastic lower part and hold 5 rounds. Marked "223 CAL." on the black plastic base with a tab at the front to release the base but no logo or any other marking. 0
