Just picked one up and am looking for disassembly instructions. Checked Savage site with no luck; did Google search with no luck. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

When the next round is fed, it pushes the spent case up and out of the extractor. The spent round simply falls away.
You remove the last spent case manually (slide it straight up).

Do NOT take it apart, getting the action timing correct is a lost art (everything is assembled with fine threads, and those threads adjust/control the action timing)

Top round about to be "ejected" from the extractors

Note the feed cam beneath the lower round, this is just one of several items that have to be timed correctly for the rifle to work properly.

They used to call them "miserable" loaders because they were so difficult to work on and get everything right.

I had a semi-functional one years ago. It was such a headache I gave it to a gunsmith friend of mine. After about a year he hated tinkering with it so much I believe he pulled the wood off and used it as a piece of rebar in his new patio.

I have one in excellent condition. It reminds me of my Henry Golden Boy in 22 except the forestock is groved, not smooth, and no brass receiver.. Loads the same exact way. .I don't shoot it much.

They are a bit funky but still a nice little pump action, rather than lever action. Can be good little plinkers if in good condition....

Have a gunsmith check it out for proper function...Gun value in good condition...ahhh $250..tops
