Colt 1911 Link pin comes out
When I remove the barrel from my 1991A1 Colt, the pin that holds the barrel link slides out freely. Is this normal and if not, how do you keep the pin in place?

Staking punch at the edge of the pin. Your gunsmith can do it in 30 seconds.

EDIT: True, the pin may be worn. Usually a new pin will fit tightly into the hole in the barrel lug, requiring a light tap with a pin punch. The link should always move freely.

Thank you sir! 0 -
Its a completely stock Commander 1991A1, I will order a new link and pin from Brownells as the pistol has had quite a few rounds thru it. I might as well get a new recoil spring too. What is the standard factory weight recoil spring for a commander model? 0 -
