Locking Bolt on Model 64 Winchester
I have a 1935 Model 64 Winchester that has a "Blue finish Locking bolt". The "entire part" has this finish...not just the top. I questioned this in terms of originality...but sense...I have seen a couple of OLDER Winchesters (1930's & older) with the same thing... I wonder. These ARE NOT Re Blued rifles! Can anyone explain this entire part having a blue finish??? THANKS!!!

The locking bolt on a pre-war Model 64 rifle should be completely in the white (no bluing what-so-ever). I do not own any post-war Model 64 rifles, therefore I am not sure what or how Winchester finished them. 0
