JP Sauer
Can anyone help me with the specifics of this piece? In dealing with drillings previously I know the proof marks and the fact that the shotgun barrels are 16 gauge. The printing on the top of the barrels say 8x57 jr which sort of confuses me because I thought the 7,8 mm on the bottom was the rifle caliber. Are they one in the same? I'm 99.99% positive the stock was replaced because I've never seen a Sauer without the checkered grip and rubber buttplate. Plus the end of the receive was bent a little to be accepted by the stock. Anyone know the date of this by looking at it? The model? Any help at all. Sorry for the excessive amount of pictures....just didnt want to leave anything out hehe.

I believe that the "7.8" mm in the proof marks would be the actual bore diameter in millimeters. "937" could/would? also be the date of proof, 1937. "13gr" would be the weight of the bullet that the rifled barrel was proved for, which works out to approximately 200 grains. 0
