Identify this tang sight
It has a patent date on it of Jan, 29./79
Center to center hole spacing: 1-1/8"
Has a letter "E" stamped on bottom.
No other markings.

The sight is for Marlin 1889 and 1894s 0 -
I am thinking Lyman #1 or #2. 0 -
It is a Lyman No. 2, and the letter stamped on the underside of the base will tell us which specific firearm it was made for. 0 -
