1911 series 70 question

Will a slide on a series 70 1911 have a serial number on it also? If so, where about?

  Serial only on frame . Some military 1911 had serial number on slide hidden by the firing pin retainer . also some ace service models . military and civilian Match pistols often have barrel slide and frame all numbered the same so you can keep all the fitted parts together.
