Ruger 10/22 production numbers; ballpark ?

I was just wondering about how many have been mfg. What prompted this is a used one I bought today dates later than one I bought in 1974 from Gil Hebard for something silly like $55.00.
So I'm wondering in the last 40 years how many they cranked out?
